Agriculture and the MSHCP
It was recognized during the development of the MSHCP that "Take" of listed species could occur
in the normal conduct of agricultural operations existing within the MSHCP Area for Western
Riverside County. It was important to insure that existing Agricultural Operators ("Operators")
would be protected under the MSCHP and an agreed amount of "new" agricultural land could be
put into production with Take coverage under the MSHCP.
In March of 2006 the final details concerning both the Agricultural Certificate of Inclusion (COI) and
the Informational Brochure on the COI were completed by the County of Riverside, Riverside County
Farm Bureau, and the Regional Conservation Authority and are available on the RCA's website or can be
obtained from the County Agricultural Commissioners Office.
Certificate of Inclusion
The Agricultural Certificate of Inclusion is a form that is used to register both existing and proposed
new agricultural lands into the Existing Agricultural Operations database for the MSHCP and Permits.

Western Riverside County - Agricultural Lands Maps
The Regional Conservation Authority in March of 2006 completed the review and update of
agricultural lands for the Agricultural Operations datadase. The Agricultural Lands Maps
posted below show the parcels that are currently included in that database.
A variety of data sources, methods and procedures were used
to compile the information for the database. All efforts were used by RCA GIS to include
properties designated as having agriculture or related activities present.
Please note that this application is still in development. The RCA is currently working
on the deployment of a web based mapping application that can be used to identify parcels
in a variety of ways to determine if they are wihin the Agricultural Operations Database.
