The Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority (RCA) has acquired approximately 670 acres of undeveloped natural space in unincorporated Riverside County adjacent to the city of Corona for conservation under western Riverside County’s Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP).

Nearly $9 Million Coming to Riverside County to Preserve Region’s Habitat and Protected Species

The Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority (RCA) was awarded $8.9 million in federal competitive grant funds on September 14, 2023, from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The RCA, which implements the Western Riverside County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP), will use the grant award for land acquisition efforts for the protection of 146 native animal and plant species across western Riverside County.
